Joel's Trembling

After emailing Joel's neurologist with the details about his whole body shaking (I wrote about it in my last blog) she emailed me back and said that because he is aware during the time he is trembling it could be a movement disorder/tic which can happen to children with TS or developmental delay. She said we should just watch it for now and if he is having more episodes we can either run a videotelemetry EEG or we can lower his seizure medications (I guess the meds can sometimes make a tic disorder worse.) The problem with lowering his meds is the seizures could come back (and if these episodes are seizures lowering his meds would make them worse.) Please pray for wisdom for Isaac (Dad) and me (Mom) in upcoming decisions we will have to make regarding this issue. Also, please pray that the trembling would simply go away. We know that ALL things are possible through Christ. If it is his will, He can make the shaking go away. "...with God all things are possible." Mark 10: 27

I'm sure that your journey with Joel has been less than relaxing and it seems that there may always be something that will come up. Keep your eyes fixed on the Creator of Joel. He will give you and Isaac the wisdom and strength you need to face each situation. In my prayers.....yes, with God all things ARE possible.

Every day devoted parents all over the world fall into bed exhausted at night. They get up the next morning ready to do it all over again. This having been said, the parents of special needs children have a huge additional burden, complete with worries, stress, and sorrows. There are also victories and blessings with these children. Every day we take the bad with the good and look to the Lord with thanksgiving. We ask and hope for answers, guidance, strength, and a sense of humor. He answers as He deems best for us in the eternal scheme of things. It is so much easier going through life with the knowledge that He is in control and that He cares for each of us. Your family continues to amaze me with your hard work, resilience, and love. It is indeed a priviledge to be your Dad and Grampy.
